Estimating Department – Ripon, Wisconsin
At Walsworth, I just accepted the position as an Estimator, but I was formerly a Bindery Inspector for almost five years. As a Bindery Inspector, I was responsible for inspecting finished books, catalogs, and magazines before they were sent out to the customer.
I was a Ripon Printers employee for about two years before it became Walsworth – Ripon. I have been with Walsworth for almost two years now, so I have been in the printing industry for just under five years. My parents both worked at Ripon Printers a long time ago. My mom was still there when I got the job as a Bindery Inspector. It was exciting to work at the place where they both worked.
I love the people I get to work with every day. They are a fun group of people.
If I had a personalized coffee mug at work, it would say “’ If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.’ – Dolly Parton”
What I love most about my job is knowing that I am a part of helping the company be successful and achieve its goals.
I value that Walsworth provides opportunities to learn new skills and better yourself. I have been able to move departments and do a new job that requires me to learn new skills.
A favorite memory I have here was the night I was able to get my license for the power jack.
A fun fact about me is I have two horses. One is 16 years old, Betty, and I used to barrel race her but now I trail ride her after some injuries. The other one is seven months old and her name is Nadia, she will be trained to barrel race when she gets older.
When I’m not at work, I love being with my horses, baking cookies, gardening and hiking. I have two nephews who absolutely love to ride Betty around, and I have two sisters who go hiking with me.
In my community, I have volunteered at the local food pantry/thrift store. I have also volunteered at assisted living homes.
