Yearbook Sales Rep, Suffolk Virginia
I am a Yearbook Rep located in Suffolk, Virginia and I cover the Eastern portion of North Carolina, Virginia, and the Eastern Shore up to Maryland.
I help my yearbook teams problem solve and learn new ways to market with ever-changing technology. I share my love of all things photography and design and watch their light bulbs shine bright as they push their creative boundaries. My job means I get to visit with my friends every single day!
Prior to Walsworth, I worked in schools helping them raise money for items the budget didn’t cover, and I owned a photography studio in Indiana. When the fundraising company I worked for decided to shut its doors, Walsworth was a very easy decision for me. I have been working with Walsworth for five years.
Working for Walsworth allows me to combine all of the things I love; working in schools, working with teachers, administrators and students with all things photography and design! And even better are the relationships that I create. I genuinely feel the advisers I am blessed to work with are also my friends!
The coolest thing about my job is seeing how each school’s unique vision comes to life, and I get to play a part in that! I’ve always told my photography clients, especially in this digital age, that the only true way to preserve memories is to put them in print. Social media is ever-changing, even digital files can become corrupt, lost or damaged – it’s the same with yearbook. I tell every student that the yearbook is the only way to know in 30 years your memories will be right where you left them.
My personalized coffee mug would say: MINDSET is everything!
What makes me want to come to work every day? I really enjoy catching up with everyone and helping them think outside their box. There’s the obvious fun in getting to work with my people, but the other aspect of my job is challenging myself to grow my business and sharing why I feel Walsworth really is the BEST yearbook company.
Most people don’t know that growing up, I was part of a sign choir. We performed all over. One of the biggest highlights was performing in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Pan Am Games.
In my personal life, I have one house-trained fur baby named Samantha. She is the funniest dog ever and has more personality than most people. I also have 18 other feather babies that are not so house-trained… My boyfriend and I ventured into adding chickens to our family a little over a year ago!
Aside from my furry family members, I have my boyfriend, Marco. Marco is from Portugal and left everything he knew when he moved here 11 years ago. This past summer, I was fortunate enough to travel home with him and meet all his family and friends. It was such an amazing time together.
My other hobbies include photography, but sadly I don’t make the time to do it often enough. I love to travel and see new places, whether locally or abroad. I love being outdoors and, on the weekends, you can either find me at the beach or possibly hiking whenever possible.
Walsworth has given me a place to call home. It’s given me the chance to continue the relationships I have while making new ones. I am thankful for Walsworth and the true family values it upholds. Walsworth has not only my back, but also the backs of the customers we serve.
