Katherine Gemmill
Yearbook Sales Representative, Baton Rouge, LA
As a yearbook sales representative at Walsworth, I work closely with schools to help them create and distribute memorable yearbooks for their students. Using my background in sales, I focus on building strong relationships, understanding schools’ needs and providing tailored solutions that make the yearbook process seamless. My day-to-day activities include meeting with advisers to guide them through the yearbook process, teaching students in both yearbook classes and clubs to help them develop their skills and prospecting new schools to expand my client base.
I began my career in the print industry in the summer of 2024. The blend of creativity, organization and collaboration involved in producing high-quality yearbooks has been incredibly rewarding. I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this field as I help schools create lasting memories. I took this role because it offers the perfect blend of creativity and sales. This field allows me to tap into my creative side by helping schools design memorable yearbooks, while also utilizing my sales background to build relationships and grow my client base.
The coolest thing I get to do as a rep is interact with the students and make a real impact on their yearbook experience. It is rewarding to guide them through the creative process, helping them bring their ideas to life and create something they will cherish for years.
My personalized coffee mug would say: “Coffee before talkie.”
A fun fact about me is that I love to scuba dive. In my free time, I love to travel and explore new places, especially when it involves outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing or kayaking. Spending time with family and friends is important to me, and I also enjoy giving back to the community through volunteering.
I have two dogs, two cats and four Silkie Chickens. I have always been an animal lover, and I look forward to including goats and donkeys to my crew one day! My family and I are very close and talk daily.
Walsworth has not only allowed me to build valuable skills in sales, communication and relationship-building, but it has also contributed to my future by providing a stable career path in an industry I am passionate about. This stability is laying a strong foundation for my family’s financial security and future opportunities. Additionally, Walsworth helps schools create meaningful memories for students, which enriches the community by fostering connections and preserving shared experiences for future generations.
I give back to my community by volunteering with an animal rescue organization, where I help care for and find loving homes for animals in need. It’s incredibly rewarding to see these animals thrive in their new environments. I also volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, helping to build homes for families who need safe, affordable housing.
One of my favorite memories at Walsworth was the two-week training course in Kansas City. It was an incredible experience where I had the opportunity to grow and learn alongside an amazing group of people. We shared knowledge, developed our skills and formed lasting connections. The sense of camaraderie and support we built during that time has been a valuable part of my journey with the company.
