Marketing Copywriter, Overland Park, Kansas

I am the Copywriter for the Commercial Marketing team at Walsworth – Overland Park. My job consists of creating content for the Walsworth website, as well as resources to help our Sales Representatives. My work includes blogs, case studies, customer spotlights, employee spotlights, presentations, sell sheets and more.

I started working for Walsworth in October 2023; this is my first experience in the print industry. I went to school for music education and taught K-12 vocal and general music in public schools after college. After leaving teaching, I worked in the hospitality industry for a few years at various restaurants and cocktail bars, before moving into marketing full-time in 2022.

I came to Walsworth because after working full-time for a marketing agency for a year, I was ready to join an in-house marketing team. During my interviews, Walsworth stood out as a people-oriented workplace where I would have the freedom to learn and grow.

I love that I get to work with a team of great people who care about their jobs. The work I do is part of a larger marketing strategy, and it’s satisfying to watch it all come together in our marketing campaigns.

My favorite part of my job is Monday afternoon when I drink a Diet Coke and watch the latest episode of The Inside Man.

My personalized coffee mug would say: “Drink more water.”

In my free time, I love going to the gym, reading, playing video games, playing guitar and taking my dog to the dog park.

A fun fact about me is I teach private piano and guitar lessons. I travel to my students’ homes around the Kansas City metro; I love getting to build relationships with my students and their families (and pet their dogs).

I live with my partner, Sage, on the East side of Kansas City. Our family consists of our dog, Rosie, and three cats; Milo, Kit and Lua.

My favorite memory of working at Walsworth is the 2024 Overland Park Chili Cook-Off – the competition was fierce and the chili was outstanding!
