Jeff Culby
Scheduling – Saint Joseph, Michigan
My current title at Walsworth is scheduling supervisor. I have held many positions prior to this one during my time here. I started as a platemaker in 1992, moved into digital prepress in 1996, spent about nine years running our POD department, and an additional 10 years or so supervising in the bindery. My current role is more loading and forecast related, versus day to day. I spend a LOT of time on the computer working with Printflow, and all of the other Monarch Suite software.
I have worked in the industry for 32 years. I’ve been with IPC/Walsworth for 30 years. I was at another local printer prior to IPC. When work slowed there, I came to IPC. I joined Walsworth when they purchased IPC, and it has turned out to be a very positive thing for this plant!
The coolest thing I get to do at my job is working with technology, and understanding how it relates to the very old art of printing.
If I had a personalized coffee mug at work, it would probably say something about me being loud.
I come to work every day because I enjoy my job, coworkers, and compensation. 🙂 I have been able to make a career out of this place, giving me a solid life.
My family includes two grown children, a wiener dog, three cats, a bird and three chickens. When my children were in school, we were very involved with marching band, robotics, etc.
Outside of work, I fish a lot, and I cook a lot. I am told I am a very good cook!
A fun fact about me is my first concert was John Denver (I am a metalhead now).
One of my favorite memories from working at Walsworth is my son being awarded a scholarship in 2018. Very proud moment for a father, and very humbling moment for a man.
