Cover Prep – Brookfield, Missouri
At Walsworth, I have worked in cover prep for a little over 10 years. I have learned a lot in this department and continue to learn new things every day. I recently started training the new hires along with my other responsibilities. Before cover prep I worked in Premedia (commercial) for about five years and before that I worked in desktop for about eight years. I have volunteered and worked in many departments in the 22 years I have worked for Walsworth.
In my day-to-day work, I do my very best to help process the cover materials efficiently and correctly to ensure the customer receives a book that they can be proud of. I help with whatever is needed at the time and move to different tasks as needed.
I wanted to work at Walsworth because I was involved with the yearbook when I was in school and enjoyed it very much. I thought it would be fun to see what the other side of it looked like.
What I love most about my job is there seems to be a new challenge every day. Whether a customer wants to try making something new or something like a cover with lights or music, the possibilities are endless. We have the opportunity to work with the customer and the other departments to try and make their dream a reality.
If I had a personalized coffee mug at work, it would say, “You may call it coffee, to me it’s anti murdery juicy juice!”
I come to work every day because I enjoy the work I do and I couldn’t ask for better coworkers.
A fun fact about me is I love cute frogs collectables and funny coffee mugs.
In my family, I have a 16-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. They drive me crazy and keep me going every day!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children, doing things with my church and being involved with Canvas House, a nonprofit organization.
I give back to my community by volunteering when I can to do fundraising for the community, whether it be through the school, Church, work or Canvas house. I am a volunteer for Canvas House and soon hope to have a sober living house in Linn County.
Walsworth has provided me job security for the past 22 years and I hope many more years to come. Walsworth gives back to our community and is a huge presence in the area.
Working at Walsworth, I have made so many wonderful memories over the years with so many wonderful people. My best memory would have to be from when I had to have surgery and the people I work with all came together to make sure my family and I were okay. From making sure I had a driver to appointments, to bringing food after I had surgery, to just checking on us. We are not just coworkers, we are family.
