I work in sales as a Commercial Sale Rep which means I try to sell a variety of jobs that can utilize all of our facilities. Another way to look at it is I build relationships. I look for ways to connect with existing customers and prospects to build a relationship, to show that we’re an honest and ethical company that will exceed their expectations now and long into the future. I’ve been in sales 18 years and my longest running customer is 18 years.
I started in the print industry 36 years ago when I started at Walsworth, back then we were Imperial Printing Company.
What brought me to print? My cousin worked here and loved Imperial, the people and the work and pushed for me to come join. It was a great decision. I started in the press room, moved to prepress where I worked in about every position possible until landing in supervision. In 2006 I started in sales and have loved it ever since.
I’m a talker, I love talking to different people, different personalities and about the many different types of books, magazines and catalogs we print. Every person has a story.
The thing that gets me up to go to work every day is the challenge. Selling print is tough, it’s a tough market. I still get excited when it all comes together.
A fun fact about me is our house is a time warp back to the 1970s. My wife and I love Mid Century Modern (MCM) furniture, and we go on adventures most weekends to find new fun items for our house. I’ve had well over 50 cars in my lifetime doing all my own repairs, engine swaps, brakes, etc. I still look for things that are broken so I can fix it.
I like to say I’m a 30 30 30 guy. I’ve been with my wife since 1990, lived in the same house since 1991 and have worked at Walsworth since 1987. I have 2 kids, Claire (27) and Levi (25), a 5 year old granddaughter and 2 cats: Candy and Elaina.
Outside of work, I have several hobbies. My daughter, Claire, is a professional MMA fighter out of Denver Colorado. My wife and I have gone to every fight from Philadelphia to Las Vegas and everywhere in between. We also love going to estate sales to look for MCM finds for the house. I’ve taken three houses down to the studs and rebuilt them, doing my own plumbing, electricity, drywall, and trim work. I love hands-on work.
Walsworth has given me the confidence to know that if you work hard, you’ll be rewarded. Walsworth has provided stability for my family. I’ve always been a believer of working hard, but also that work should be fun. I’ve had a lot of fun over the years with my many co-workers, and I have great memories to reflect on.
