Quality Lean Technician, Ripon, WI
I am the Quality Lean Technician for our Walsworth — Ripon location. I work to make sure we are always producing quality products for our customers. Each day, I help solve any challenges we may find throughout the book-making process or help a coworker find solutions to a problem they are having. I am always striving to make sure our team and our customers are satisfied with our work.
I was new to the printing industry when I started with Walsworth back in August of 2023. By October, I applied for my current position as I have previously had both quality and lean experience in past jobs. Before I took on this role, I worked in our bindery as a Production Utility worker.
I came to Walsworth because I have always been a bookworm; I remember as a kid sneaking books into my bed with a flashlight and hoping my mom wouldn’t catch me up. Also, my mom has worked in our purchasing department for almost three years, and she always talks about how much she loves here it. I’m happy I took her advice as this is the best job I’ve ever had!
I love that every day is something different. There’s always something new I’m learning or helping with. I also really enjoy working closely with my coworkers and being able to feel right at home while at work.
My personalized coffee mug would say: “Contains Roger’s coffee” (Roger is my supervisor and he makes the best coffee in the office).
My favorite part of my job is being able to help people problem-solve. I also love coming to work every day and just being able to see all the different books we create.
A fun fact about me is I love art. The master bedroom in my house actually isn’t a bedroom at all, it contains tons of craft and art supplies. I have everything from stained glass supplies to painting. I sell most of my work to friends and family.
My fiancé and I are currently planning our wedding, set for this October. In the craziness of wedding planning, we also have an 18-month-old little boy who definitely keeps us busy and on our toes.
