Airport Improvement

Airport Improvement Magazine is a publication that features stories, case studies and updates about planned, ongoing and completed projects at airports across North America. Airport Improvement was launched in 2008, and within two years it became the number one magazine in the North American airport sector. Because of its highly specific audience of airports and consultants, advertising space in Airport Improvement is incredibly valuable to companies that market products and services for airports.

Walsworth prints nearly 7,000 copies of Airport Improvement seven times a year. When given the choice between print and digital, an impressive 84% of Airport Improvement subscribers choose to receive a physical copy of the magazine – a testament to the publication’s successful reader acquisition strategy, the quality of the final product and the continued relevance of print.

Airport Improvement started printing with Walsworth in 2021 after working with another printer for 13 years. “After an ownership change, they determined we were too small for them,” said Paul Bowers, publisher of Airport Improvement. “This made it impossible to continue printing with them, they didn’t want us as a customer.”

Lynn Pehanich, a Walsworth Sales Representative, had already been in contact with Paul for years.  “I gave her a call and said I needed a printer, and she said let’s see if we make sense,” said Paul. “She was very responsive. She gave me the information I needed and a competitive price.

“[Walsworth] made the transition so seamless – it was unbelievable. I didn’t have to change any of my systems when I came on with Walsworth. They were able to adapt to my system. Whether it was scheduling for when we send magazines out or things like inserts, I’ve been very happy and thankful to Walsworth for being there. We’ve been very lucky and profitable, and they’re a key part of what we do.”
