Yearbook Sales Representative, Orlando, Florida
I am a Yearbook Sales Representative in Central Florida. Coming from the world of education, the thing that I was worried I would miss the most was the kids. With this position, I get the best of both worlds – I get to go to several schools a day, work with kids, watch their creativity grow and channel my own creativity as well. Most days I am in classrooms, looking at the yearbook spreads, giving design tips or providing training. I teach the kids how to best market their books and work with them on the business aspect of running a yearbook.
I have worked in the printing industry for six years. As a previous yearbook adviser and journalism student myself, I always loved the production process of printing and the student journalism aspect. My rep, Tracy Gorman, reached out to me and asked me if this was something I was interested in doing and I enthusiastically said YES!
The coolest thing I get to do, day in and day out, is work with student journalists and their teachers to help produce a timepiece for their school year. What I love the most about my job is that I actually LOVE my job. I love and appreciate that I get to work for a company that allows me to feel supported to grow but also supports my family values and the time I cherish with them.
My personalized coffee mug would say: “I probably haven’t even had a sip of this yet.”
I want to come to work every day because not only am I rewarded for the hard work, but also for the fact that I pour into a company that gives back to me in ways that I can truly appreciate.
A fun fact about me is that I have run two full marathons and 13 half marathons, but I’m not into running anymore.
My wife and I have been married since 2018 and consider ourselves a blended family. I have two older sons who currently attend Florida State University and the University of Central Florida. I also have two littles; Kennedy, who will be five in December, and Austin who just turned three. We have two Golden Retriever puppies; Archie and Dolly.
Outside of the workplace, you can find me running the kids around and playing with them. When we are not busy with their activities, I like to spend time on the Peloton and by the pool or beach. Our family also loves going to Disney for little staycations and day trips.
Walsworth has contributed to my future by providing me with tools and resources to grow my book of business, which helps financially and contributes to the well-being of our family.
We are in the process of getting our oldest Golden Archie Therapy Dog certified. Through this and an organization we work with, I will be able to visit health care and frontline workers with Archie while they are on the job. We also will have the opportunity to visit adults and children who have been staying in the hospitals long term. Through this training, I have already experienced a glimpse of the joy a dog can bring during their stressful days.
I have so many favorite memories working at Walsworth. I think one of my favorites would have to be the first year I made it into the Million Dollar Club. Since I was hired, I aspired to find myself there and worked hard each year to make it there.
