In 2024, Missouri Medicine: The Journal of the Missouri State Medical Association is celebrating 120 years of continuous publication. In 1904, MSMA began publishing a medical journal devoted to the art and science of medicine, and collegiality among Show-Me State physicians and county medical associations. Twenty years later, MSMA approached Ovid Bell, founder of The Ovid Bell Press in Fulton, Missouri, to begin printing their journal. When Walsworth purchased The Ovid Bell Press in 2012, this tradition of printing excellence was passed into our hands.
Walsworth not only prints MSMA’s bi-monthly publication but also hosts digital editions of each magazine. Additionally, our technology department codes Missouri Medicine to be uploaded and available for reference to online research databanks like MEDLINE, PubMed, EBSCO and more. This functionality has allowed Missouri Medicine to be cited in impact factor journals and regularly featured in national media.
