Yearbook Sales Field Trainer, Overland Park, Kansas
I am a Yearbook Sales Field Trainer. I teach new Yearbook Sales Reps yearbook basics and how to run their territory and service their customers. I get to work with people that also have a desire to keep yearbook relevant in our society. I develop and train efficient and effective processes to produce positive results in yearbook territories.
I have held the position of Customer Service Representative, Yearbook Sales Representative and Field Trainer. I have worked in the printing industry for 37 years, all of them with Walsworth.
I came to Walsworth because I had a good time as a yearbook editor in high school. I thought it would be fun to work for Walsworth, who was the printer of our yearbook.
My job is diverse. I keep our price book up to date and edit descriptions to make them clear and concise. I also get to utilize my creative side by working with InDesign and Illustrator to make the information we teach easy to digest. It’s also cool that I get to see a new yearbook sales rep’s progress and successes.
My personalized coffee mug would have a picture of a woman surrounded by partially opened cans with the word “worms” on them.
I hop out of bed and look forward to getting to work. I’m excited to pick up where I left off the previous day. Ninety percent of the projects I work on are FUN.
A fun fact about me is as a child (probably around 8), I asked for and received a calculator for Christmas. (I like numbers!) People don’t really see me as a person who likes rock music, but a few of my favorites are AC/DC, Metallica and Ozzy Osborne.
We have two children and six grandchildren. They are all sweet people and I enjoy each and every one of them. My granddaughter (almost two) doesn’t say the word “no” yet. She only says yes and yay! That tickles me.
In my free time, I enjoy crafty things. I sew (see the picture of a casserole carrier I made for my niece), make decals and decorate shirts. I love going to the Royals games. I love rock bands (see the picture of us going to the Foreigner concert).
Walsworth believes in me. They have historically been open to my upward momentum.
I give back to my community by serving as a board member of the Kearney Family Foundation. Our goal is to provide Christmas gifts and dinner to families that otherwise might go without.
My favorite memory of working at Walsworth is a volleyball game on the beach at a National Sales Meeting. I hadn’t been out of high school long and I was on the volleyball team. I just couldn’t help myself from serving aces. Then, I started serving underhanded and could barely get it over the net!! Another great memory for me was moving to Wisconsin and running that territory.
