Prepress Department – Ripon, Wisconsin
I started out in the Bindery as a Jogger. For the next seven years, I worked my way up to a Saddle Stitch Operator. I then moved to do finishing work in the Traxion Department for a short time before settling into the Prepress Department doing file prep.
In my day-to-day work, it’s my responsibility to make sure the files we receive are up to snuff for our presses and up to the customer’s standards.
I have worked in the printing industry for 8 1/2 years. First 6 years as Ripon Printers, and the last two-and-a-half as Walsworth. At the time, I was fresh out of college. The pay was good with a lot of opportunities for overtime and advancement.
Walsworth has kept me in a community that is close to my heart and close to my family. I plan on staying in this community for years to come and Walsworth helps keep me here.
If I had a personalized coffee mug at work, it would say “Smile juice”
A favorite memory I have here was painting pedestrian walking lanes on the floors during a Friday that we were shut down. Peaceful yet fun work. Very rewarding.
What I love most about my job is the challenge of something new and accomplishing it. I am constantly learning new things with every advancement and position shift I make.
A fun fact about me is my previous work experience was being a stereotypical camp counselor.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy things that involve having my daughter and dog outside, going on walks and visiting parks.
I have a two-and-half year-old daughter, Evelyth, who loves dancing and going down slides at the park. We have a two-and-a-half-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer named Otto who loves to run around at the dog park.
I like to give back to my community by getting involved in what the community has to offer.
