Angie Warner
Administrative Department – Marceline, Missouri
At Walsworth, I have been the Travel Admin for over 20 years. I began in the “Who’s Who” department in 1987. After that I worked temporarily in the Estimating Department. I then transferred to the Accounting Department and was an Accounting Clerk for several years. After that, I transferred to the Finishing Plant and was the Receptionist/Admin Assistant, then I transferred to the Admin office and was the Admin Assistant for Ed Walsworth. It was during that time period that I was transitioned into the travel duties, which I currently do in addition to administrative office duties.
In simple terms, I arrange travel for our employees – air, hotel, rental cars. I also am the administrative assistant for several of our executives and VPs. I’ve worked at Walsworth for 35 years.
I grew up in Marceline, both of my parents worked for Walsworth. My mom was a cottage proofreader and my dad was a Division Manager until his retirement. I knew Walsworth was a great company to work for and I wanted to stay local and raise a family here.
In my position, I know travel can sometimes be a hassle and unexpected things occur. So, when I’m able to handle a stressful situation for our employees and get them where they need to be, it is rewarding.
If I had a personalized coffee mug at work, it would say “Too old for Snapchat, too young for Life Alert”
What I love most about my job: It is definitely the people I work with, they are a great group.
A fun fact about me: My husband and I are Seinfeld fans and we also love trivia.
When I’m not at work, I love being outside. I try to walk 2 miles every day (usually listening to 70’s and 80’s music or true crime podcasts). I enjoy traveling, with my most recent trip being to Maine. Currently, my free time is spent watching my two oldest grandsons participate in sports. When I can’t get outside, I like to read, scrapbook, and binge watch true crime documentaries.
My husband, Richard, is retired Army. He is spending his retirement working part-time for the local golf course and the local veterinarian. We have two grown children, Ashley is an R.N., and Cody works at a local lumberyard. We have 5 beautiful grandchildren- Jase, Tate, Lynx, Mira and Knox. We also have two dogs and two cats.
When my children were young, I was a girl scout troop leader and volunteered at their school. I am currently a member of the Marceline Community Chest Board, which assists many local organizations in our community and Walsworth supports each year.
I am grateful that I’ve been able to live and work in a small town. When my children were young, it was great to be near their daycare and school. My daughter received one of the Walsworth scholarships upon her high school graduation and was able to pursue a nursing degree. This was a tremendous help to my family financially. I see many other Walsworth contributions around me daily: we have a wonderful community center, year-round swimming facility, community support of local organizations and most importantly, great employment opportunities for many families like mine who love the small-town life.
